On May 8th, Mayor Muriel Bowser cut the ribbon Mary's House for Older Adults, the first dedicated LGBTQ+ affirming communal living space for seniors in Washington, DC. Mary's House offers 15 affordable, apartment-style units designed to specifically support LGBT+ seniors and provide them with community resources.
Founder Dr. Imani Woody has dedicated more than a decade to making Mary's House a reality. The location of Mary's House was originally the site of Dr.Woody's childhood home, and the project is named after her mother. We are honored to be part of such an incredible project!
