Accounting & Service Support Specialist - Greenville, NC

Hamel Builders, Inc. is a well-established mid-Atlantic general contractor known for delivering complex, high-quality construction projects through strong leadership, collaboration, and disciplined execution. We are seeking an Accounting & Service Support Specialist to support the accounting department.


What You’ll Do

As Accounting & Service Support Specialist,  you will be responsible for the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and job costing functions for Tideland Construction, acting as a liaison between Tideland’s operations in North Carolina and the accounting department operating in Hamel’s main office in Maryland. This role requires daily, on-site attendance at Hamel’s Greenville, NC office. Key responsibilities include:

  • General Roles and Responsibilities
    • Interact with subcontractors and vendors in a professional, courteous manner.
    • Full understanding of Timberline (Sage 300) AP and JC modules.
    • Weekly or bi-weekly meetings with the office staff in Maryland to discuss timelines and workload.
  • Accounts Payable:
    • Daily review of e-mail inbox.
    • Enter vendor invoices into the system daily, or as needed.
    • Print/Save invoices and approval sheets (“blue sheets”) to PDF and save to shared drive for Controller’s review/approval.
    • Once approved, mark invoices as such in the accounting system to facilitate payment processing.
    • Notify the Maryland Project Accountant that checks are ready to print in the Maryland office for delivery to the North Carolina office.
    • Mail or facilitate the pick-up of checks issued to subcontractors/vendors following receipt from the Maryland office.
  • Billings/Accounts Receivables:
    • Enter Tideland accounts receivable in the system as tickets are invoiced to 7-11, Speedway, Refuel, and others on a weekly basis.
  • May assist with the management of small construction projects for the Tideland Construction team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years experience in accounting

  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to Greenville, NC area prior to start date
