

Hamel Builders, Inc. is a well-established mid-Atlantic general contractor known for delivering complex, high-quality construction projects through strong leadership, collaboration, and disciplined execution. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead large-scale projects ranging from $40–$60 million, overseeing all phases from preconstruction through close-out.
This role is ideal for a construction professional who thrives in a leadership position, balances strategic planning with day-to-day execution, and takes ownership of project outcomes related to schedule, budget, quality, and team performance.
As a Project Manager, you will provide leadership and direction to project teams while maintaining strong relationships with Owners, Architects, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders. Key responsibilities include:
Negotiating and managing subcontractor and vendor agreements
Providing timely, accurate written and verbal project status updates to internal and external stakeholders
Preparing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules, RFIs, and submittals
Performing site visits to ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence
Managing and enforcing site-specific safety plans
Leading and managing site personnel, including coordination with Superintendents
Monitoring and coordinating trade inspections
Preparing and submitting requisitions and change orders for approval
Establishing and managing schedules for finishes and final inspections with Owners and Architects
Reviewing and approving subcontractor and vendor payment requests in coordination with the Superintendent
Reviewing and approving invoices
Negotiating, reviewing, and vetting subcontractor change order requests
Assembling and overseeing project close-out documentation
Attending and leading progress and requisition meetings
Performing additional responsibilities as assigned by the Project Executive

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
PMP certification (preferred)
Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects
Willingness to travel up to 50% as projects require
Must be based in or willing to relocate to Washington, DC / Elkridge, MD area prior to start date
